Item name: | Bernina 1008 sewing machine |
Description: | Bernina 1008 workhorse sewing machine |
Story: | I bought this sewing machine using the small amount of money that my maternal grandparent’s left me when they passed. I was ready for an upgrade as I’d been sewing my whole life. I was living in D.C. and bought it at one of the few remaining independent fabric stores in the area. I wanted a high end machine that wasn’t industrial but didn’t have all of the extra bells and whistles. I have now had it for at least 15 years. It has sewn some part of every single project I’ve worked on. It sewed thousands of masks during the pandemic. I have never had it serviced and it has never, ever failed me. The stitches are still perfect and it has made so many projects enjoyable and possible for me. |
